Sharon is an experienced housing strategist with a comprehensiveunderstanding of housing issues based on over 10 years’ experience in this areaof work. Sharon has worked on a diverse portfolio of projects, including work on local, regional and sub regionalhousing strategies and investment plans, across the North East and Yorkshire and the Humber. Sharon was a key player in establishing the Golden TriangleHousing Partnership, formed to co-ordinate affordable housing action,innovation and investment across the sub-region. She has also worked onBridging NewcastleGateshead’s HMR Scheme Update.
In 2005 Sharon completed an Affordable Housing Good Practice Manual for theGolden Triangle area of North Yorkshire (Leeds, Harrogate, and York). The Manual established a good practicebenchmark for the Yorkshire and Humber region in respect of deliveringaffordable housing through the planning process. This commission also involved deliveringtraining for both planning and housing development officers, to help embed goodpractice principles.
Sharon has been instrumental in developing Affordable Housing Strategiesfor Easington and Manchester City Council and regularly prepares material toinform the LDF process as part of Strategic Housing market Assessments.
Sharon is a professionally qualified, corporatemember of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
