David Cumberland, Director B.Sc, M.Sc
David was previously director of David Cumberland Housing Regeneration Ltd (DCHR) established in January 2001. This followed over 20 years of successful management experience as Group Director at the Places for People Group, Regional Director (North West) at the Housing Corporation and senior posts in housing strategy, policy and programme management for several Local Authorities.
A specialist in housing strategy and policy, he is working with IdeA on good practice for the LA Strategic Housing role. He updated Regional Housing Strategies for Yorkshire and the Humber, and the North East regions for the RHB's. Currently he is advising Manchester and Salford on the development of an Affordable Housing Strategy for the City Councils and the Pathfinder.
Recent work has applied the new Strategic Housing Market Assessment methodology for Tees Valley sub-region followed by the preparation of a sub-regional housing strategy. He developed an assessment of housing market drivers for Elevate East Lancashire.
